The Skywatch SKY497 system is an airborne Traffic Advisory System (TAS). It monitors the airspace around the aircraft and advices the crew where to look for transponder equipped aircraft that may pose a threat.
The installed system consists of the following components:
Transmitter/receiver, located forward of co-pilots pedals.
Antenna unit, located underneath aircraft on hatch forward of nose wheel.
Indicator unit, located on instrument panel.
The system is interfaced to the following existing aircraft systems:
Co-pilots gyro compass (heading synchro).
Air data system (barometric altitude).
Flight/ground switch (weight on wheels).
DME/Transponder suppression line.
ICS system.

Can track up to 30 aircraft simultaneously.
Max tracking speed: 900 knots.
Tracks mode A and mode C transponders (Mode S not necessary).
Display range: 2 and 6 NM (Selectable).
