In cooperation with the Original Equipment Manufacturer, MAP 21 are proud to offer an EASA-approved Aircraft Intercom System integration of the bareB MUX5 radio multiplexer, as an ICS expansion.
The MUX5 is the ideal solution when the demand for radio input channels exceeds those available in your aircraft ICS. The MUX5 allows the operator to multiplex and mix different audio streams to enable integration of multiple radios with an ICS, wireless intercom system (WICS) or other systems in need of multiple to single audio streams.
The customisable legend operator panel allows quick enable and disable of audio streams to individual radios, control levels to and from each individual radio source, as well as control of PTT relay signals to the connected radios.
The system enables a seamless integration between wireless intercoms and multiple radios where typically the different radios operate at different levels and remote control of transmit to connected radios are required.
MUX5 can for instance be installed in the cockpit centre console or at an operationally convenient location in the cabin, to allow crew-member control of the radio selection.
The bareB MUX5 is designed ruggedised from salt water resistant materials and is waterproof to meet IP68.

MAP 21 achieved an EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organisation Approval in 2007, EASA.21J.326, which enables us to approve modifications to the aviation industry as a delegated EASA authority.
