MAP191 - Cargo door enhanced safety
MAP191 - Cargo door enhanced safety
Do you perform cargo loading / unloading in windy conditions or with rotors running? Then you have noticed how easily the AW139 cargo doors can start flapping, requiring an extra hand to hold the door up for safety!
The 200N OEM gas-springs holding the doors up are simply not designed with wind / rotors running in mind. But MAP21 has a solution:
→ A modification replacing the OEM gas-springs with stronger ones with a positive locking feature in their fully extended state.

Intentional closing of the door then requires a manual release of the lock, thus eliminating the necessity for additional safety support or personnel. Problem solved!
Rest assured that we can also adopt the solution to your aircraft type, being aware that AW139 is not the only type suffering from this phenomenon.
MAP21 help airlines with any cabin modifications to their aircraft by creating smart and pragmatic solutions in a timely fashion.
Do as many other aircraft operators, contact MAP21 for your certification needs!
