MAP173 - AIRS-400 Cockpit camera installation
The modification enables the installation of a 4K ultra high-definition cockpit camera in the ceiling of the cockpit, intended to continuously record the cockpit and pilot interaction for the sake of internal incident and accident investigation, in addition to the CVR/FDR.
The AIRS-400 camera is equipped with 35 GB crashworthy internal memory capable of recording 2 hours of video/audio. In addition, a 128 GB Micro SD card memory is installed, recording approximately 8 hours of video/audio.
The camera is powered by an essential bus and seamlessly integrated in the ceiling, under a protective cover covered in the original cockpit leather type and color. Access to memory card is enabled for the aircraft technicians only, as requested by the customer. The field of view is adjustable during installation enabling optimal image capturing.

MAP 21 achieved an EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organisation Approval in 2007, EASA.21J.326, which enables us to approve modifications to the aviation industry as a delegated EASA authority.
