MAP140 – New AMM Procedure -Alternative way of installing carpets

The problem:

Service-history shows that when removing the floor carpets (during aircraft maintenance), The double sided tape that holds the carpet is often difficult to remove without damaging the underlying floor panels.

(Boeing B737-600/700/800/900 AMM Task 25-27-15-400-801; Boeing B737-7/8/8200/9 AMM Task 25-27-15-000-801)

The solution:

Our MAP140 modification introduces an alternative installation method when compared to Boeing’s maintenance manuals. This design change allows residue of the tape to remain on floors and be partially overlapped. This method has proven itself to be equally strong, and is significantly gentler to the floor panels, saving floor panels maintenance/repair cost and time.
